About the Role :
The Supply Chain Planner is a highly visible and collaborative role as part of a growing cross-functional team. Responsible to execute a focused supply chain strategy integrating customer demand, production capacity, a multi-facility distribution network, and optimal facility inventory targets to support business growth, service, and profitability objectives.
The Supply Chain Planner will communicate and coordinate the planning and distribution activities across multiple manufacturing sites and distribution centers, driving supply chain and inter-functional efficiency and continuous improvement by implementing best supply chain management practices.
Essential Functions :
- Create item level and product line forecasts from market demand requirements in multiple facilities
- Optimize stock holding levels within the total supply chain by managing key planning parameters and end to end processes (lead times, MOQ, supply reliability, demand variability, service objectives, etc.)
- Issue new purchase orders for distribution center inventory replenishment while optimizing factory capacity allocations.
Escalate any constraints of demand greater than capacity as required.
- Maintain item master DRP parameters in SAP for optimal inventory planning and service levels
- Run DRP in all facilities, review recommendations, and execute an appropriate plan
- Responsible for inventory balancing including inter-company warehouse transfers
- Develop strong, professional working relationships with all international factories and contacts
- Work closely with Sales and Customer Service on Account Management activities and projects
- 3PL and distribution center daily activities, inventory control, and troubleshooting of issues
- Responsible for the minimization and reduction of slow moving, short dated, and obsolete inventory
- Responsible to help meet or exceed KPIs for NA Supply Chain related to inventory, service, cost
- Develop, support and participate in the SIOP process (sales inventory operations planning)
- Take initiative to identify opportunities and to implement continuous improvement projects to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the end-to-end supply chain system
- Support as needed to business plan (budget), capacity management and related projects
- Actively involved in planning and supporting new business opportunities, product introductions, system implementations and updates, conducting studies and executing logistics / network solutions
- Responsible for cadence reporting and distribution of specific daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Responsible for possible consignment and VMI activities for selected customers or product lines
Education & Certification Requirements :
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Planning or related Supply Chain position
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
Experience & Required Skills :
- Strong ERP knowledge and experience with SAP or equivalent system
- Strong analytical, problem solving and mathematical skills with high attention to detail
- Medical device or regulated industry experience preferred
- Manufacturing and / or Distribution experience preferred
- Excellent, professional written and verbal communication
Preferred Skills and Qualifications :
- Extensive SAP experience (JDE, Oracle or similar system acceptable) :
- MRP, DRP and Forecasting modules
- Item Master & Purchase Info Record (setup, maintenance)
- Purchase Order (and Purchase Requisitions)
- Inventory Management, Production Planning
- Customer Orders (detailed inquiry and reporting ability)
- Demonstrated experience managing a complex multi sourced SKU portfolio
- Demonstrated experience solving supply issues to mitigate service disruption
- Forecasting experience using SAP, Excel or statistical models (dedicated software)
- MS Excel minimum intermediate level (pivot tables, V-Lookups, filtering, functions, formulas, charts)
- Demonstrated project management, time management, organizational and prioritization skills
- Experience in a lot controlled and FDA regulated environment or industry a plus
- Experience in a Lean or Six Sigma environment
- APICS CPIM or CIRM certification
