As an Analyst at GLS, you will play a critical role in solving important problems through utilizing your strong critical thinking skills, the knowledge you obtained through your scholastic endeavors, and your ability to learn new concepts and domains turning knowledge into applied solutions.
The day-to-day activities will vary based on the group but could include the following :
Operations Analysts
- Operations Analysts are responsible for analyzing and improving key aspects of business operations and processes utilized to execute workflows, tasks, and operational procedures of systems and people.
- As an Operations Analyst, you will interface with a variety of business partners including those supporting Front end sales operations, active customers, and recovery operations.
- Operations Analysts will collect data from both unstructured and structured data sources, will the goal of visualizing the data, evaluating current performance, solving problems and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Operations Analysts are often asking and analytically answering questions such as :
- What are Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which evaluate the effectiveness of current processes?
- What are the current performance trends and what are the reasons for deviations either positively or negatively?
- What opportunities exist for business to do things more effectively or efficiently?
- What risks and shortcomings exist in our current methods and how can we mitigate those risks and shortcomings?
- Are there opportunities that exist in our current way of doing things that would provide an improved customer experience?
What should you already have to be successful in this role?
- External candidates require a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proficient computer skills and ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required
- Working knowledge of SQL and / or Python preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas in a cohesive business-focused and user-friendly language
- Internally motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness
- Exceptional interpersonal skills : friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, interact at all levels within the organization, and build cross-functional partnerships across the business
