Your New Role...
We are looking for an experienced Recipe Developer to join the Food Network team. Based in New York City, the Recipe Developer will be responsible for creating original recipes in the Food Network brand style for our website, digital video department, television networks, Ad Sales Partners, and various social media platforms.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- You would write well researched original recipes in the Food Network brand style for our website, digital video department, television networks, Ad Sales Partners, and various social medium platforms.
- Daily duties would include station set-up, recipe development, recipe writing, cross testing, frequent brainstorm meetings with the editorial and advertorial teams, compiling team shopping lists and station breakdown.
You would also collaborate with others to evaluate recipes for taste and brand suitability.
- At times you would supervise and train interns and freelance recipe testers.
- At times you would also develop recipe content for Food Network Magazine, an integral part of the Food Network brand from a print media perspective.
- You should be prepared to work some corporate events in the Food Network Kitchen; some of which are scheduled in the evening after working-hours.
- At times you would demo recipes on-camera for Food Network’s various social media platforms.
- This is an in-person position at our Test Kitchen in Manhattan. It can be up to 5 days per work week. There will be occasional periods, though, where you will be expected to work from home based on production schedules.
Qualifications and Experience...
- Must have a culinary degree or equivalent experience, plus two years restaurant or catering experience, along with recipe development and test kitchen experience.
- Must be able to write, prepare and evaluate recipes.
- Applicants will be required to demonstrate knowledge of baking fundamentals and should be familiar with a wide range of culinary styles.
- Basic photography and computer skills are also essential.
- Basic writing skills are required for enhanced headnotes and food-related articles.
