We are currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting who in conjunction with the CFO, prepares financial and ALCO reports including annual plan and operating budgets.
Ensures complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial and accounting records for the credit union and prepares analysis of operations for management.
Manages the credit union's ACH, share drafts, IRA and Check 21 functions and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
A day in the life of the Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting will include :
Preparing all financial reports, including but not limited to regular monthly financial package, ALM report package, etc.
Fulfilling finance-related ad hoc projects assigned by the CFO and President / CEO.
Managing the ACH, share drafts, IRAs and Check 21 functions and ensures the credit union's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Ensuring a trained, motivated and professional staff capable of providing efficient and effective services to the Credit Union's members.
Interviewing, scheduling, training, assigning work, establishing performance expectations and monitoring results. Recommending the discipline and / or discharge of subordinates, while maintaining required personnel documentation.
Maintaining all analyses regarding Asset Liability Management (ALM) to include monitoring the concentration of the portfolio, credit risk analysis, interest rate risk analysis, liquidity rate risk analysis, price risk analysis and other areas to ensure the safety and soundness of operations.
Making recommendations to the CFO regarding loan sales, MDPA analysis and other cash management objectives including borrowing strategies and discussions regarding current economic and market conditions.
In accordance with ALM and budgetary functions, being responsible for using various models and methodologies and performing complex and sophisticated financial analysis functions including rate of return, depreciation, working capital, return on investment, budget variance, expense review and business unit and / or corporate performance analyses.
Developing recommendations to support effective allocations of financial assets.
Working closely with the CFO in developing, implementing and monitoring the credit union's operational budget and financial planning activities.
Maintaining current knowledge of NCUA requirements. Working with external auditors and regulators. Providing support to audits and examinations.
Responsible for monthly updating and overall maintenance of Credit Union ALM software.
Maintaining expertise on IRA regulations, PATRIOT Act and other regulations governing or impacting savings and / or checking-related products.
Ensuring that employees are fully compliant with pertinent regulations and are trained appropriately. Responsible for understanding and complying in an accurate and timely basis with all Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering / OFAC requirements that pertain to your position at LFCU and as directed by management and / or the Chief Compliance Officer.
Experience / Education
Eight to ten years of similar or related experience
1) A master's degree, or (2) a bachelor's degree plus professional certification (e.g., CPA).
