Staff Accountant

Under general supervision, the Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the daily accounting needs of the organization.

This includes processing accounts payables, reconciliations, posting JEs, reviewing financials, financial reporting, and assisting in year-end audits.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, including ensuring proper coding and approvals, data input, and payment processing.
• Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
• Addressing vendor inquiries, statement reconciliation, and researching discrepancies.
• Reconciliation of credit card transactions
• Reconciliation of bank statements
• Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts.
• Prepare various schedules.
• Generating reports defined in procedures or as requested.
• Collaborate with other departments to problem solve ongoing issues that impact department / organizational goals.
• Assist with developing and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
• Research, analyze, verify, and prepare financial statements and reports to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related experience
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with a strong knowledge of accounts payable cycle administration;
• Must have Quickbooks experience.
• Preferred proficiency in the use of Zoho One Suite or Oracle NetSuite.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including : Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Attention to detail is a must.
• Ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose an appropriate course of action.
• Ability to work independently and also as part of a collaborative team
• High ethical standards with demonstrated experience handling highly sensitive and confidential information
• Excellent written & communication skills, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.

and requires extended periods working with computers. Emergent situations may require after-hours or weekend work. Some travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions are normal for an office environment and may require extended periods of time sitting and working at a computer.
