As a Director of Supply Chain, you will oversee all aspects of our strategic sourcing, supplier development, contract governance and spending activities.
Your goal will be to minimize overall costs and lead the development and continuous improvement of global sourcing and purchasing strategies.
You will accomplish this by leading purchasing and supply management activities and coaching and guiding your team in building end to end purchasing strategies and ensuring compliance to strategic sourcing processes.
Your role will include delivering financial and cost savings targets, innovation, and continuous improvement, while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels.
You will work with leaders throughout our operating companies to understand our needs and serve as the expert for all Centuri supply chain related services.
You will establish procedures to enhance the quality of our vendors and requirements and measures for suppliers. You will develop and facilitate relationships with vendors and suppliers, looking for value in service, monitoring performance and return-on-investment metrics and initiating contract modifications.
You will report to the SVP of Fleet & Supply Chain.
What You'll Do
- Lead supply chain projects focusing on process improvement, system implementation, company engagement and adoption of technology-based solutions
- Guide the company’s Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, with the primary goals being increased adoption, greater spend visibility, invoice / payment automation, optimized supplier enablement and end-user empowerment
- Develop company-wide sourcing strategies with a focus on expanding the company’s diverse supplier base
- Facilitate system updates while working to maximize features and configurations to their fullest potential
- Lead various companywide procurement projects and sourcing events that meet operating requirements and are accretive to the company’s strategy
- Oversee the standardization of all procurement processes and ongoing vendor management
- Lead negotiation efforts, purchase agreements and vendor contracts with a focus on quality, cost containment and process improvement
- Lead, coach and train team members while fostering an environment of inclusion, career development and professional growth
- Develop benchmarks, scorecards and best-practices for monitoring supplier performance and provide corrective action where necessary
- Create purchasing policies to achieve cost savings across company products
- Develop a strategic vision around optimizing supplier base ensuring purchasing programs are communicated and integrated into strategic plans and budgets
- Foster meaningful business relationships across departments to ensure the effectiveness of purchasing strategies and deploy Subject Matter Experts to cement change
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
What You'll Have
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Engineering, Business, Accounting or related field required
- 5-10 years of strategic sourcing and indirect spend experience supporting a decentralized operations organization
- Direct experience with an eProcurement / Procure-to-Pay software solution, COUPA experience preferred but not required
- Experience implementing significant change management cost reduction and productivity improvement programs
- Experience working in a decentralized operational network while driving change
- Analytical ability to identify, support and execute strategic organizational initiatives
- Collaborative personality with ability to facility cross functional initiatives to achieve successful project rollouts
- Comfortable with technology and ability to think outside of the box to bring new perspectives to the procurement process.
- Posses a working knowledge of contract law
- Significant financial acumen and comfortable with various financial and accounting concepts including budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury and risk management
- Experience working within a with a P&L department or division management environment
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time

Work Environment
- Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
- Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
- Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
- Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
