About the role :
This position repairs and maintains the organization's facilities, systems, and equipment. It maintains and improves the organization's campus, buildings, and grounds.
A Maintenance Tech builds and maintains strong, collaborative working relationships with internal and external parties. A Maintenance Tech is expected to perform duties with a high degree of independence, initiative, communication, teamwork, quality, and judgment.
Responsible for general, preventive, and routine maintenance / grounds work to ensure licensing standards and other requirements are satisfied.
Completes assigned maintenance tasks and work orders in a timely and quality fashion. This will include but not be limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, test equipment, general mechanical repairs, carpentry work, and grounds keeping.
The Maintenance Tech position plays a crucial role at Clayton and requires regular attendance at work.

What we want you to do :
- Daily checking of the work order ticketing system and completion of assigned work orders.
- Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs items within electrical, plumbing, carpentry, furnishings, equipment, doors, glass / windows, building interior and exterior.
Ensures work is performed in a timely manner, and triages requests to prioritize the most critical repairs
- Performs monthly building inspections and completes preventative maintenance checklist task as assigned. Completes repairs on facilities, equipment or systems, which may include mechanical or electrical systems, HVAC or other environmental management systems, generators or power management systems, or fire or safety systems
- Makes repairs and coordinates / supervises the work of contractors when more complex repairs are needed; schedules maintenance or repairs to minimize disruptions to organizational operations wherever possible
- Maintains aesthetic appearance of the grounds and buildings; remains in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards;
perform on-call or emergency repairs as needed
- Ensures the ongoing stewardship, safety and security of the entire campus; responds to safety issues; reports and documents all issues in accordance with applicable procedures and standards
- Available for on-call support during emergency situations. Works adjusted hours for snow removal, as needed.
What we are looking for and what you must have :
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate power tools and equipment.
- Knowledge and hands on experience completing maintenance tasks, including repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC. Ability to paint and perform minor carpentry.
- Ability to interpret and understand information received.
- Understand and perform basic mathematical computations; use analytical skills for troubleshooting.
- Must know how to use a computer and basic programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage a variety of tasks.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse audience of individuals and groups.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team; ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Must be able to participate in snow removal and landscaping duties.
- Will operate a variety of equipment and power tools, understands use of heavy machinery and safety; implements stewardship of tools and equipment.
- Successfully pass a background check and any other regulatory screening requirements
- A valid driver license with evidence of vehicle insurance and the ability to get to work at all hours
