Job Title : High Voltage Electrician (NGA)

Job Summary :

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a High Voltage Electrician (HVE) to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for high-voltage electrical systems at National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Washington facilities.

This position is at NGA headquarters in Springfield, Virginia. The HVE is an essential member of a team of dedicated and talented professionals in delivering a wide range of base operations support services - such as installation and facility operations, maintenance and repair;

workforce and security support; logistics support; and, project management, as well as others - at NGA facilities and sites located throughout the Washington National Capitol Region (NCR).

This position is covered by the CBA for Local .

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Available / / , to support the operation of the electrical systems at all NGA Washington facilities and grounds.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and components per Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards;

troubleshoots and resolves electrical system malfunctions.

  • Supports overall capacity management of electrical systems to ensure capability is in balance with known and / or future demand requirements.
  • Ensures the timely application of Government and local regulations, codes, standards, policies and procedures related to NGA electrical systems operations and management.
  • Establishes and maintains an effective relationship with the customer to achieve a mutually beneficial business relationship.
  • Based on knowledge and experience, recommends to the program management team, ways to improve the full spectrum of the electrical systems operations and services service delivery process to ensure high-quality goods and services are delivered on time and within cost.
  • Pro-actively seeks feedback from clients, attends meetings, submits reports, and assists both internal and external auditors and inspectors.
  • Monitors electrical subcontractors in their tasks and provides reports when needed.
  • Supports overall capacity management of electrical systems to ensure capability is in balance with known and / or future demand requirements.
  • Ensures electrical system modifications comply with all code requirements and original design intent for NGA Washington.
  • Keeps accurate documentation and when necessary, performs analysis of activities and processes to improve contract performance.
  • Pro-actively seeks feedback from clients, attends meetings, submits reports, and assists both internal and external auditors and inspectors.

Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain a Journeyman Electrician License or higher
  • Possess and be current in the following certifications : National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Electrical Power Testing Level II Certification.

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace Certification.OSHA ten hour and -hour Construction Safety CertificationAmerican Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level I Infrared Thermography Certification

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with : Square D Equipment such as P Switch Gear, VR MV Breakers, and Master Pack Breakers.

ASCO transfer switches.Reading and understanding blueprints, schematics and specifications.Practical knowledge and understanding of Electrical Switchgear.

Practical knowledge and understanding of Building Electrical Systems.

  • Strong technical knowledge of all facilities maintenance and operations, including complex electrical and associated control systems.
  • Highly developed leadership, management, supervisory, interpersonal, analytical and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a diverse and dynamic environment with short notice taskings and under high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge and experience with the ARCHIBUS Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is highly desired.
