Commercial Electrician

Laitram, L.L.C. is seeking an Electrician to join the Corporate Facilities Management and Engineering Team at our Harahan location.

This individual will be responsible for assisting journeyman electricians and performing assigned electrical related tasks.

In this role, you will be assisting with maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities :

• Install, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, and repair lighting, circuits, electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment.
• Comply with current National Electric Code.
• Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, switch gear, breakers, motors, etc.
• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System for Work Order management.
• Work from drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, job layouts, manufacturer’s directions, or verbal instructions.
• Operate a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.
• Requisition supplies and equipment.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Perform any other miscellaneous duties as requested.

Requirements :

• High school graduate or equivalent, Trade School a plus.
• Minimum of five-years of commercial electrician experience.
• Jefferson Parish Electrical License preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime and Holidays as required.
• Ability to read labels, directions, work orders, wiring schematics, etc.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be a team player committed to working in an environment of continuous improvement.
• This work may require the use of machinery, man lift, scissor lift, etc. (training provided).
• Must be able to perform the essential requirements identified in the functional job description for this position, including the ability to lift 75 lbs.
