Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate in English, bilingual is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in sales and marketing or related field required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sales and catering.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License
- Strong computer applications knowledge.
- Effective communication skills required.
- Flexibility with work schedule required.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
- Must be able to frequently move freely about the property, maintain manual dexterity to operate job related equipment, such as telephones, copiers, etc.
withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction
- Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental contaminants including smoke
- Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 20 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks assigned
- Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives
- Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner
- Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness
- Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods
Responsibilities
The Sales & Catering Coordinator is responsible for . The Sales and Catering Manager overviews day to day catering operations for the Sales department and assists with internal and external catering needs.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Tribal Gaming Agency policies, practices, and procedures.
- Adhere to the Miccosukee Service Expectations and ensure team compliance
- Monitor compliance with all aspects of Miccosukee Casino & Resort internal controls
- Responds to all request from customers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Respond to RFPs immediately
- Creates Room Group Agreements to be reviewed and signed by the client.
- Process BEOs once the executed agreement is received and distribute to the appropriate departments.
- Ensure prompt payment according to established procedures for all groups, meetings, and events.
- Prepares proposals and initiates negotiation with customers as required.
- Maintains direct communication with other hotel departments.
- Maintains all information pertaining to Sales Department employee schedules and work itineraries.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of pertinent casino data.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

The associate will occasionally be required to climb and use balance. Additionally, the team member will frequently be asked to use hands and arms carry and lift items.
Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this job, the team member may experience temperature fluctuations and moderate to high levels of noise.
