Job Overview
As a Tax Manager, you would be applying your knowledge and industry experience to all phases of a client engagement including, but not limited to, assisting and developing staff, performing technical research, reviewing returns, and communicating with the client throughout the engagement process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review tax return and ensure compliance with professional standards
- Develop and maintain client relationships and ensure the highest level of client service is achieved
- Provide overall leadership, supervision, training, and performance feedback to staff
- Effectively delegate work to staff according to their experience and capabilities
- Develop business by expanding existing relationship with clients, maintaining personal networks, and participating in civic, charitable, and professional organizations
Qualifications
Education / Licensing
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or other relevant field, from an accredited university required
- Master's Degree in Tax or Accounting preferred
- CPA certification required
- Other professional certifications desired
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
5+ years of public accounting experience in a tax environment, with a concentrated focus on complicated returns involving individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts and tax-exempt entities.
This includes multi-state taxation among all entity types.
- Thorough knowledge of the tax process, including strong research skills
- Experience in staff leadership and development
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, ability to think critically and make decisions
- Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Client service mentality

Software
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Knowledge of accounting and tax software is required, UltraTax and GoFileRoom preferred
