As Group Used Car Director, you would hold a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire used car operations within the group.
Your key responsibilities would include :
- Strategic Leadership : Developing and implementing strategies to increase pre-owned vehicle sales, profitability, and market share.
- Inventory Management : Managing the sourcing, pricing, and stocking of pre-owned vehicles to meet sales targets and profit goals.
Maximize pre-owned wholesale opportunities. Manage aging vehicle policy by creating functional work plans to regularly move inventory between dealerships to ensure proper inventory mix and pricing strategies.
- Sales and Marketing : Developing sales and marketing strategies to attract customers and increase pre-owned vehicle sales.
- Financial Management : Developing and managing budgets, forecasting sales and expenses, and ensuring financial goals are met.
- Customer Relations : Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues.
- Compliance : Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to pre-owned vehicle sales.
- Market Analysis : Monitoring market trends and competitor activities and vehicle values to determine optimal pricing and valuation strategies.
- Vendor Relations : Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors, auctions, and other sources of pre-owned vehicle inventory.
- Technology Adoption : Identifying and implementing technology solutions to improve efficiency and enhance customer experience in pre-owned vehicle operations.
- UVI & Recon Process : Partnering with the Group’s Fixed Operations Director in effort to develop a standardized UVI & recon process to ensure consistent quality, time to line, overall store profitability and efficiency.
- Appraisal Process : Working with the group to ensure proper utilization of the inventory management system.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Who Would I Interact With?
This position would interact with the Platform Vice Presidents, Director of Fixed Operations, General Managers, Pre-Owned Managers as well as other department heads at the dealership level.
Compensation : $200,000 - $400,000per year

Qualifications
Relevant Work Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field (preferred).
- Extensive used car background, including experience with desking, vehicle appraisals, wholesale / auction activity, and online vendor / lead management.
- Proven leadership ability to mentor and coach others.
- 10+ years of progressive dealership operations experience, preferably working as a Group Level Director.
- Understanding of reconditioning requirements, costs, and repair approval process.
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills when working with team members and automotive colleagues.
- Competitive and self-motivated attitude with eagerness to learn and improve.
- Proficient computer skills Microsoft office, CDK, Vauto.
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and work ethic.
- Valid, current Driver’s License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record that meets requirements for insurability.
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background, credit check and drug screen.
- Travel is required, up to 50% of the time.
