Legal Director/ Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced International Legal Counsel to help us to structure our global organization.

This role is crucial in ensuring that our company operates in full legal and compliance with local laws and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing corporate legal, compliance, risk management, data privacy, Licensing in / out and providing necessary legal compliance training to internal staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instrumental in setting up the global organisation structure.
  • Develop and implement company legal and compliance policies in accordance with US, EU and Singapore’s laws and regulatory requirements to ensure that the company’s operations are fully compliant.
  • Draft, review, and amend contracts and agreements to ensure the business operation meet the legal compliance while supporting business needs.
  • Identify and address compliance risks in the company’s operations promptly, taking proactive measures to mitigate these risks.
  • Continuously monitor changes in laws and regulations, ensuring that compliance actions within the company are updated accordingly and promptly.
  • Handle compliance investigations and manage other risk mitigation matters as they arise.
  • Provide necessary compliance training to internal staff to enhance their understanding and adherence to legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • JD or equivalent degree of Law from a reputable institution, with membership in a well-recognized Bar Association.
  • 10 years extensive legal experience in practice or in-house within the TMT (Technology, Media, Telecommunications), Fin-tech or Web3 industries, with a strong background in US / EU regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Experience in setting up and managing a global organisation structure.
  • Good working knowledge of intellectual property, Android / IOS platform licensing, data privacy, In-App-Purchase payments would be preferred
  • Understanding of the video gaming industry would be an added advantage.
  • Strong risk awareness, with the ability to proactively identify potential risks based on legal and regulatory changes and prepare appropriate responses to mitigate these risks.
  • Excellent legal research skills, with a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and handle complex legal issues with confidence.
