Position Summary :
Under general direction of the Athletic Director, assist in the planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive strength and conditioning program;
to instruct and train student-athletes and teams in attaining proficiency in sport related functions.
Essential Job Functions :
- Design and supervise weight training and conditioning programs for all upper and middle school athletic teams at TVT for in season, off-season, and pre-season.
- Operate and maintain the weight room at TVT.
- Teach strength and conditioning classes as needed.
- Be responsible for a working relationship with middle school and upper school coaching staff.
- Plan and schedule a regular program of weight training and conditioning practice in coordination with the head coach of each sport.
- Set up and monitor all rules and regulations that are to be followed by all users of the TVT weight room.
- Recommend purchase of weight room equipment and training supplies as is appropriate.
- Maintain necessary attendance forms, work out schedules, and progress charts for each athlete.
- Oversee the safety condition of the weight room facility.
- Enforce discipline and sportsmanship behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
- Prepare and submit to the athletic department a complete inventory of weight equipment at the end of the season.
- Advise student athletes on the proper use of equipment.
- Oversee athletic training room, rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes under the guidance of the Health Services Dept.
and Athletic Director.
Provide additional support for IP and PE classes as needed.
Assigned Hours :
Must be flexible, early afternoons and evenings. Expected to be on campus around 20-25 hours per week.
