The Community Planner will develop facility planning, regional planning, construction planning, special project planning, safety site planning, and economic analysis.
Work Model : Onsite / Office-Based
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions :
- Participate in design charrettes / reviews and provide written comments by all involved disciplines.
- Coordinate with Major Command liaison, proponents, Installation Support Teams, Military Construction planners, range planners and Air Force Civil Engineer Center to forecast and identify Environmental Impact Analysis Process requirements.
- Develop long range work plans for project development.
- Oversee the production of a wide variety of facilities planning products and services.
- Understand the integration of assets management technologies and investment strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory :
- Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning or Political Science from an Accredited PAB University; OR a bachelor’s or higher degree in a major appropriate to the community-planning field.
- Seven (7) years of community planning experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of public government organization experience to include experience as a community planner on an Air Force Base.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Ability to acquire and maintain government identification / common access card.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and / or drug testing required on the contract.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
