Overview
Carilion Clinic, headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, is searching for a 3rd Fellowship trained General Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to join the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Completion of an ACGME accredited Orthopaedic residency is required. Responsibilities include clubfoot, syndromes with orthopaedic manifestations, cerebral palsy, congenital or traumatic limb / hand / foot deformity, sports injuries, trauma / fractures, hip dysplasia, myelomeningocele.
Scoliosis / spine surgery not required. Surgeries are performed at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital a 763-bed academic / tertiary referral medical center with a designated Level 1 Trauma program for Adults and Pediatrics.
The Carilion Clinic Orthopaedic Surgery Department includes 45+ Physicians and 16 Physician extenders in seven subspecialty sections providing patient centered care throughout the region.
Faculty participate in Education of the Medical Students from the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) as well as off service residents and PA students.
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has fellowship programs in Scoliosis and Spine Surgery (1), Adult Reconstruction (2), Foot and Ankle Surgery (1), Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery (1-2), Orthopaedic Trauma (2), Musculoskeletal Research (3) a Podiatry Residency Program (9) and is developing an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program.
This position offers the opportunity to benefit from an academic practice setting practicing with many of the advantages of a smaller community practice in a state-of-the-art facility, supported by a large academic institution.
Surgeons have academic appointments through the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Research interest is supported.

Minimum requirements include :
- Board eligible / certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery
- Fellowship trained in Pediatric Orthopaedics
