GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will support the Met Live Arts Department’s production activities across the museum, including concerts, operas, performance art, and other live performances in the Met’s theater, galleries and public spaces.

You will be assisting in the production of events and act as liaison between our internal Audio Video team, the wider production team, as well as external contractors and artists and provide hands-on support during performances.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

Coordinate technical processes during load-in / load-out, technical rehearsals, and performances as assigned.

Provide administrative support for productions including drafting work orders and write-ups for internal and external production partners.

Draft and maintain internal production documents. Document and disseminate production meeting details.

Draft production schedules and ground plans when assigned, assisting in managing production schedules.

Schedule production related meetings for Production Manager with internal and external crews, artists, etc.

Assist in departmental purchasing, following proper approval processes.

Facilitate communication, prioritization, and scheduling of production work, including serving as the primary department liaison for Artifax, a venue management software.

Support external vendors by setting up and processing invoice requests, helping coordinate rentals, and facilitate deliveries / pick-ups

Assist with other assignments as needed relating to the execution of performances

Some weekend, late nights, and extended week hours are required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

2 years of professional production experience, or equivalent training in theatrical production management or stage management, or other disciplines such as opera, dance, touring, or event management

Ability to independently problem solve.

Must have extremely strong organizational skills and work habits

Ability to respond to changing circumstances quickly and with a positive attitude

Must possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills

Maintains working knowledge of CAD software (Vectorworks preferred), G-Suite, Microsoft Suite

COMPENSATION RANGE :

Pay Range : $28.00 - $30.00 / Hourly

The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.

Location Requirements

At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. Commuting distance means that they are located in one of following states : New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the Tri-state and PA areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
