Role Overview : Danforth is seeking a Managing Director, VC & Strategic Partnerships with a focus on venture capital firms and service providers specialized in life sciences.
This senior role will be responsible for cultivating relationships with VC firms and service providers to position Danforth as the preferred partner for their portfolio companies, ultimately driving long-term partnerships and substantial business opportunities.
Responsibilities :
- Lead business development efforts to target venture capital firms investing in life science companies, positioning Danforth as their go-to consulting partner for finance, strategic communications, human resources, clinical development, regulatory consulting and commercialization.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at VC firms and service providers, ensuring Danforth’s services align with their portfolio companies' strategic and operational needs.
- Serve as a strategic advisor, understanding both the VC firm's objectives and the operational challenges of their portfolio companies.
- Oversee the development of long-term contracts and partnerships with portfolio companies, securing recurring revenue streams for Danforth.
- Represent Danforth at industry conferences, investor forums, and networking events to promote the company's expertise in supporting VC-backed companies.
- Manage the business development pipeline, ensuring consistent communication and relationship-building with key firms.
Requirements
- 12+ years of business development experience, with significant exposure to venture capital firms and service providers such as law firms, accounting firms, insurance providers, valuation firms and commercial real estate companies in the life sciences sector.
- Strong knowledge of VC investment models and their portfolio company support needs.
- Extensive network of contacts in the life sciences investment community.
- Proven ability to develop and close long-term, high-value partnerships.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a history of exceeding sales targets.
