Hospice Business Development Account Executive
Trellis Supportive Care is North Carolina’s first free-standing not-for-profit hospice organization, serving patients and families in the Piedmont / Triad since 1979.

Trellis Supportive Care has expanded over the decades to meet the growing supportive needs of our patients. Our service area encompasses thirteen counties in the Piedmont / Triad, and we operate from four offices and the Kate B.
Reynolds Hospice Home. We have made it our mission to provide compassionate care for individuals living with a life-limiting illness and their families, through quality medical, emotional, spiritual, and social support wherever care is needed.
Our staff has grown from a dozen individuals to over 350 specially trained professionals who work as a team to help patients live fully and comfortably, with hope even during life’s most challenging time.
We provide services in a 13-county area. We are seeking a knowledgeable, hard-working, energetic, results-driven Account Executive to generate business from territory-based referral sources with a specific focus in Forsyth, Stokes and Surry Counties.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Commit to the understanding and promotion of the hospice benefit to professional and community referral sources throughout service area.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with physicians, organizations, long term care facilities.
- Provide excellent customer service to assigned accounts that result in increased referrals; Willing to travel and make 10 visits within the medical community per day.
- Perform ongoing market analysis of assigned territory and referral trends and identify, develop, and implement market strategies to maximize productivity and increase patient census.
- Maintain daily documentation in Customer Relationship Management system, including daily and weekly call schedules, tracking all appointments and activities.
- Work to meet monthly referral and admission goals; promote the growth of the agency with positive public relations and excellent customer service skills;
work collaboratively with internal team comprised of clinical and administrative members to ensure community satisfaction with services.
- Develop, implement, and submit quarterly market and growth plans and daily & weekly referral call plan (face to face, electronic) that follows the quarterly market plan and goals.
- Develop and implement appropriate pre-call and post-call plan for each sales call / contact made.
- Create relationship-building opportunities, meetings, and events with referral sources.
- Identify and support community engagement by representing the agency in community activities and informational visits; educate the community about services offered through in person presentations.
- Assist as needed in the planning for educational programs working in conjunction with education department and community facility administrators.
- Maintains knowledge of Medicare and State specific hospice care regulations.
Qualifications :
- Successful candidates will be goal-oriented, highly competitive individuals with a proven track records of sales success in a health care field and the ability to build strong relationships
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience in marketing, business or health related science (nursing) required.
- Minimum of three years health care or related industry sales experience required. Experience working in a highly competitive market with a proven track record of sales success in a health care field.
- Excellent sales, networking, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to present and educate various audiences on hospice services and appropriately represent service capabilities to the targeted referral sources.
- Ability to travel in assigned territory.
