Job Title : Material Handler 1st Shift
Shift : 1st Shift
Pay Rate : $17.00 / hr. - $18.00 / hr.
Job Summary :
Our client in Valley City is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handlers to join their team on 1st shift. The Material Handler will be responsible for locating, moving, and preparing metal bars for processing and shipping.
The ideal candidate must follow safety protocols, work orders, and instructions to ensure efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Locate and retrieve the correct bundles of bars for each work order
- Move bars to designated machines and locations for processing
- Load and unload bars from trucks using appropriate equipment
- Load bars into cardboard tubes, band, or box them for shipping
- Oil bars to prevent rust and maintain product quality
- Follow work order directions accurately to meet production standards
- Complete time tickets and work orders for tracking purposes
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Tools & Equipment Used :
- Side Loader
- Overhead Crane
- Pneumatic Banding Gun
- Step Ladder
Qualifications :
- Experience in material handling or warehouse operations preferred
- Familiarity with operating side loaders and overhead cranes is a plus (Training provided)
- Ability to lift, move, and handle metal bars and related materials
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and work orders
- Strong focus on safety and maintaining a clean work environment
- Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment
Skills & Competencies :
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with material handling equipment
