Your role at Clorox :
The position will manage the Sanitation functions at the Food BU Reno, NV manufacturing facility. This position will focus on providing sanitation, cGMP, and microbiological expertise to the Plant Management Team.
This role will be part of the Plant Quality Team and will establish, maintain, and continuously improve the policies and procedures to ensure that our cleaning and sanitation programs are robust.
They will provide support to all departments including quality, operations, maintenance, engineering, logistics, and learning management.
Focus areas include identifying and eliminating conditions to prevent contamination and non-compliance to regulatory requirements.
This role will need to effectively interface with all levels of the plant workforce to effectively communicate and align on product and operations risks.
This role requires the ability to apply standard quality and troubleshooting principles and practices to assigned projects.
The Sanitation Supervisor / Manager can coordinate other technical and functional disciplines, as needed, to effectively solve problems.
This role will provide training in functional areas of expertise and will require communication of technical material to non-technical people, both oral and written.
In this role, you will :
Operations Support Ensure that the plant cleaning and sanitation procedures are effective and efficient. Provides operational support and analytical problem-solving at the Food BU Wheeling, IL manufacturing site, drawing on internal and external experts as appropriate, and managing improvement plans and activities.
Ensure practices are in place and standardized to ensure that stable conditions exist that ensure product safety and quality assurance standards are maintained in compliance with Federal regulations.
Performs plant environmental, and sanitation audits and testing. Manages plant master sanitation schedule (MSS). Ensures documentation adherence and compliance.
This position manages 3rd party suppliers and is accountable for the chemical and pest control services. The sanitation team reports to this position.
People Management and Development Provides strategic leadership and direction for site sanitation roles and responsibilities.
Identifies current gaps and develops long and short-term plans to serve the team’s development and future.
Drive Continuous Improvement - Supports the continuous improvement of the Sanitation function by identifying and resolving gaps / waste in systems, tools, and processes.
Identified as the SME for key Sanitation processes to ensure they are effectively managed, standardized, maintained, and continuously improved.
Training and Support Ensures plant personnel are appropriately trained on sanitation methods. Provides approval for the cleaning and sanitation validation aspects of new equipment, products & processes.
Ensures sanitation of lines for new or changes to formulations meet plant and Federal standards for documentation.
Strategic Leadership Provides strategic leadership and functional vision to help develop the plant and quality journey milestones.
This role identifies key leverage points within organization to drive sanitation improvements. Lead processes to improve sanitation by establishing credibility with business management team.
What we look for :
- 5+ years’ experience in FDA regulated (Cosmetics, Food or Beverage) in a combination of Quality and / or Sanitation
- Direct manufacturing, operations, sanitation, and product testing preferred.
- Knowledge of cGMPs, FDA regulations, and microbiology, including analytical testing and sanitation in FDA-regulated food manufacturing plants.
Understanding of government regulatory documentation requirements, pathogen environmental monitoring, and sanitation practices and procedures.
Familiarity with analytical testing requirements and methodologies is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving, issue resolution, and root cause analysis skills, alongside excellent written and verbal communication, independent leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build sustainable partnerships and collaborate effectively, with exceptional organization, time management, and project management capabilities.
- Proven experience on cross-functional teams- R&D, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Technical Services
- Ability to travel 5% of the time or more.
- FDA / USDA audit experience
- Sanitarian certification

Zone A : $86,600 - $161,900 Zone B : $79,400 - $148,400 Zone C : $72,100 - $134,900
