Who is Action Target?
Action Target has the creativity and drive to develop innovative new firearms training technology, the experience to properly apply that technology to solve today’s training problems, and the dedication to provide the best ongoing service and support in the industry!
What will you be doing?
Under the direction of a Mechanical Design Engineer provide engineering support and carry out sustaining and new product development activities in support of shooting range product and equipment design.
Prepare engineering documentation and perform tests and general engineering tasks. The position is for a minimum 3-month period that may extend based on department workload.
Hours and days of work are flexible.
Some of your day-to-day tasks :
- Primary duties will be modeling parts and assemblies using Creo
- Assist in creating and revising engineering drawings Creo
- Perform root-cause analysis of failed parts and recommend corrective action
- Create Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and other engineering documentation
- Perform engineering testing and write test reports
- Other engineering tasks assigned by staff members may also be required and will vary in scope and function
- Engineering Intern must be available part-time for a minimum of 3 months
What do you need to be able to have or do?
- Education : Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering Degree program (Junior or Senior preferred)
- Must be able to demonstrate effective use of CAD system for 3D modeling and 2D drawings (Creo preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with ASME drawing standards
- Must have a basic understanding of materials and material selection
- Must have a basic understanding of good drawing practices, layout, tolerances, and GD&T
- Effectively use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Demonstrate attention to detail
- Be proactive and a problem solver!
