Fetch Veterinary is looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Veterinary Central Sterilization Assistant to join our team.
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the cleanliness, sterility, and readiness of surgical instruments and equipment, contributing to the highest standards of patient care in our facilities.
Responsibilities :
- Receive, clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols
- Operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners and gas sterilizers
- Inspect, assemble, and package surgical instruments in preparation for sterilization
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper organization of the sterilization area
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies
- Work collaboratively with veterinary staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for surgical procedures
- Adhere to safety standards and infection control protocols
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a veterinary or medical sterilization setting preferred
- Understanding of sterilization processes and infection control standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and move equipment as needed
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
