Job Summary :
The Technician 1 supports all aspects of telecommunication installations and emergency restorations including the construction and maintenance of telecommunication structures, cables and data centers ensuring that work is performed in the safest manner possible with delivering a high-quality product to our customers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Safely operate equipment as a member of the emergency restorations team.
- Working on communications equipment and projects. May include installing, testing and repairing structures and equipment.
- Takes direction from crew Foreman ensuring safety and quality standards are met while adhering to project budgets and timeline.
- Review documentation with Foreman to prepare for the restoration, assemble the necessary materials, and determine the required installation methods.
- Help supervise the tracking of all on-site inventory and materials.
- Perform inspections, inventories, and audits as needed.
- Maintain issued equipment and report deficiencies as needed.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Valid driver’s license preferred with a driving record that meets Company requirements.
- Valid CDL preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to grip tightly, bend, stoop, scoop and pull.
- Willingness to take direction from Foreman & support crew on job sites.
- Able to read and write in English.
Education and Experience :
- High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education. Physical Requirements :
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Able to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Wear provided PPE at all times on job sites.
