Sales Engineer Oakland County, MI Summary The primary focus for the Sales Engineer is to identify and develop new business opportunities : new customers, new applications and new product segments, according to defined strategies, targets and goals.
You will be responsible for the creation and preparation of a Marketing Development Plan according to these strategies, targets, and goals.
Additional key areas of responsibility include defining customers’ technical requirements for the new business opportunities and transferring them to the Engineering Department.
Prepare and present the technical elements of the new products and new applications. Execute the Marketing Development Plans in an effective and consistent manner.
Key Functions & Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer Establish personal relationships with current and potential customers.
Serve as the point of contact for customers’ technical activity. Managing RFQ Technical Activity with customers. Support quoting process, working with HQ of Engineering Department and Marketing Department.
Present quotes, technical solutions, and lead technical discussions with customers. Work intensively with Customer Buyers, Purchasing Managers and Engineering to support closure of ongoing open technical issues.
Actively participate in customers’ evaluation processes for new and existing projects. Facilitate open and effective communication channels between customers and HQ Departments.
Always maintain a high level of communication with Manager. Able to travel and be available as needed for face-to-face meetings with customers.
Maintain confidentiality on all Company information including but not limited to intellectual property, confidential documents, pricing policies, sensitive communications, etc.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills of the Sales Engineer Technical background and understanding in Injection Molding Production (drawing requirements, tolerances, materials, production process, etc.
Able to work in a dynamic and changing environment. Good interpersonal relationships and excellent communication skills.
Able to work well in a multicultural environment. Able to make present, communicate, and establish connections with customers.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills BSME - Required B.A / M.A in Business / Industrial Administration a plus 5+ years’ experience in Automotive Industry as a Resident Engineer or in Technical Marketing and Sales position, working directly with OEM's and Tier 1 Customers.
