Position Summary
The Senior Power Cloud Solutions Consultantfor IBM Power plays a critical role in supporting the sale of Meridian’s Cloud and Managed Services to both current and prospective accounts.
This position actively supports the sales team throughout the sales cycle, from scoping customer needs to developing solutions and building proposals, while also penetrating new markets in collaboration with the marketing team and strategic business partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide sales support by actively participating in sales calls and developing tailored solutions for clients;
- Gain a deep understanding of clients’ business and technical requirements;
- Design cloud and managed services solutions tailored to the needs of each specific client;
- Develop detailed customer-facing proposals, including pricing, using Meridian’s pricing tools;
- Effectively communicate Meridian IT’s value proposition to business partners and customers;
- Conduct compelling presentations to customers and prospects;
- Ensure timely development and delivery of proposals;
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Partners to advance the sales process;
- Leverage Meridian IT resources efficiently to progress and close sales transactions;
- Update customer pipeline, database, and records in collaboration with Account Managers;
- Continuously learn and adopt new solutions to support Meridian’s Power cloud and managed services offerings;
- Assist in managing the sales process from initiation to closure to ensure successful sales outcomes;
- Participate in contract renewals, including follow-up and upselling;
- Identify and pursue cross-sell, up-sell, and other revenue opportunities;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and strategic partners, including ISVs;
- Promote Meridian’s offerings and support partner sales teams in selling Meridian’s services;
- Assist in the development and effective promotion of packaged solutions;
- Develop templates and documentation to support sales and operations;
- Provide training to the sales team and partners;
- Identify new business opportunities;
- Assist in the development and implementation of new processes;
- Participate in the rollout of new toolsets;
- Participate in managing Meridian’s relationships with IBM and other partners;
- Assist in marketing efforts including industry events;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements .
- Strong understanding of IBM I technology and best practices;
- Proven experience in selling services, with at least 3 years of demonstrated success;
- Knowledge of networking and security is a plus;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong listening skills and ability to engage customers effectively;
- Self-motivated with high energy and enthusiasm;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- High level of integrity and work ethic;
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships;
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
Education / Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with IBM Power i systems and related technologies;
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Experience working as part of a team;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
