The Delta Hotels Minneapolis Northeast is seeking a Full-Time Night Auditor to work Tuesday-Saturday.

The Night Auditor will attend to the needs of our guests to include, but not limited to check-in, check-out, reservations, cashiering and guest resolution.

He / she will process daily transactional audits of the hotels financial data; balance guest and house accounts, audit room revenue, food and beverage revenue, and cashier reports.

Essential Functions

  • Register guests into Opera PMS; verify check-ins with a valid Identification,
  • Confirm reservation information, physical address, e-mail address, phone number and credit card information.
  • Post, Balance, and reconcile all banquet charges and complete banquet spreadsheet.
  • Balance and reconcile Miscellaneous Income and Minor Departments (e.g., Telephone, Movies, Internet, Guest Laundry, Miscellaneous Income, etc.)
  • Accurately prepare daily reports, pass-around packs, and other reports required by departments
  • Verify balance of Food and Beverage System (Simphony) and ensure charges are correctly posted to Opera PMS and to the Daily Flash Reports.

Distribute said reports to appropriate parties.

  • Research and Reconcile any discrepancies from any transactions from the day's business. Communicate findings to Income Auditor.
  • Finalize transactions completed during the day and process credit card transactions. Ensure correct totals were transmitted.
  • Actively promote Marriott Bonvoy Rewards to guests - set and achieve goals.
  • Make, confirm, and cancel reservations using the reservations sales process and communicate to guest involved and employees.
  • Assist in reservations, scheduling, and documenting transportation requests for guests.
  • Use proper telephone etiquette to answer telephone calls and communicate effectively to guests and co-workers.
  • Perform cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts, collecting payments, and making change for guests.
  • Maintain a house bank and key, accurately report sales and deposits per shift, and ensure completion of shift checklists.
  • Deposit guest valuables in hotel safety deposit box (by request only).
  • Demonstrate a full working knowledge and expertise of each shift.
  • Ability to accurately report information.
  • Answer inquiries; promote hotel services, amenities, and upsell products to guests.
  • Assist Restaurant servers / bartenders and Front Desk Associates with cash counts or questions concerning their paperwork when able to do so.

Additional Job Requirements

  • General Accounting knowledge
  • High school education and relevant training and experience with the ability to handle guest resolution preferred.
  • Must be personable and be able to communicate with guests, managers and co-workers.
  • Must possess basic computational ability and computer proficiency, in Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of Opera to include rates, inventory and market segment.
  • Scheduling flexibility to include days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be friendly, personable, organized, and an effective multi-tasker.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments, functions, services, and facilities.
  • Knowledge on directions, hotel locations, and surrounding area.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Regular and dependable attendance is required. Attendance at scheduled meetings and training sessions is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; must be able to speak, write, and understand the primary languages used in the workplace.
  • Ability to communicate successfully and maintain interpersonal relations with guests and employees.
  • Ability to adapt to special and sometimes unexpected situations.
