Summary / Objective
As Manager of Business Development, Portfolio & Strategy, you are responsible for identification and analysis to define Hydro’s direction in a high-growth, dynamic business unit across the aluminum value chain, and mature these opportunities in close collaboration with stakeholders across the company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify new growth opportunities across the entire value chain of the business unit, from scrap sourcing and sorting to the production of aluminum products.
- Determine potential acquisition targets, perform detailed valuation analyses, and participate in teams to pursue acquisition opportunities.
- Collaborate with asset managers to further develop Hydro’s current asset portfolio.
- Perform profitability analyses of investment proposals.
- Support the North American management team with the analysis of market data and trends for a high-growth, sustainable and future-oriented business unit.
- Mature the identified opportunities in connection with project teams, acting as the project manager for specific assigned projects.
Competencies Required :
- Competence in applying quantitative and analytical methods to business opportunities.
- Financial acumen and affinity for market trends and opportunities.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, knowledge of PowerBI and SAP is desirable.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to align stakeholders to a common goal.
- Ability to work independently and manage internal and external resources to deliver projects.
- Familiarity with matrix organizations and international business operations are both desirable.
Required Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant discipline is required. Advanced degree, such as an MBA, is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience with strategic business growth activities and strategy is required.
- Knowledge of the aluminum or metals industry is desirable.
