Position Overview :
The primary function of this role will be to perform a multitude of activities related to Bridge Engineering. Active projects include single and multi-span bridge design, culvert design, abutment, pier, and retaining wall design.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Work with standard bridge engineering / design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
- Perform design calculations, estimates, and specifications, develop plan and details / layouts using CAD, quantity take offs, and technical report writing.
- Perform design and analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation design for transportation projects.
- Participate in bridge condition inspections, inspections of other transportation related structures, and inspection report preparation.
- Perform bridge load ratings.
- Perform construction engineering demo / erections calculations, temporary shoring, and falsework.
- Review shop drawings.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree is Civil or Transportation Engineering, or related field
- Engineer in Training (EIT)
- 0-3 years' experience preferred in bridge design projects
- Experience with PennDOT and / or PA Turnpike projects preferred.
- Experience with PennDOT Design programs preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and / or Microstation preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
