About our group : The Facilities Maintenance Team is responsible for building, site, and equipment maintenance in support of Seagate's Shakopee location.

The team works collaboratively with Facilities Services and Project Managers to ensure the highest level of availability for all facilities assets across the 28-acre campus.

The teams oversight includes 397,000 square feet of labs, office space, cleanrooms, and common areas. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician supports general facilities operations and building upkeep.

This position reports to the Facilities Maintenance Manager. About the role - you will : Perform work including preventative maintenance, inspection, and repair of building equipment such as pumps, process piping, utility piping, eye washes, air compressors, vacuum pumps, dock plates, door openers, and doors and locks Complete basic plumbing repairs in restrooms and kitchens Monitor and maintain site's RO / DI water plant and related systems Perform furniture installation and modifications within offices and office cubicles Assist with preventative maintenance, inspection, and repair of heating and A / C units, including MAU's, RTU's, FCU's, AHU's, VAV's, supply fans, exhaust fans, hot water boilers, pumps, and motors Assist with operation of and preventative maintenance and repairs on building chillers and production refrigeration units, compressors, fans, coils and piping Use building management system (Alerton) to monitor, report and troubleshoot building system faults and respond appropriately to alarms Source and order repair parts as needed for building maintenance Complete other assigned miscellaneous general tasks, emergency snow removal on sidewalks, and other facility duties as required Read and interpret meters, gauges, and instruments for required system checks, accurately record results, and brings up issues to management Coordinate with management, project managers, engineers, contractors and other personnel in order to understand and e Effectively complete assigned work and building projects Respond to emergency calls related to equipment failure, spills, leaks and other employee hazards Work closely with the EHS department to ensure all safety procedures are followed and safety inspections are completed Adhere to all environmental and safety rules and regulations Shift : 10-hour shift, 4 days a week,Tuesday - Friday 6 AM to 4 : 30 PMOr 8-hour shift, 5 days a week,Monday - Friday 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM About you : Work independently with minimal supervision Ability for working at heights and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Strong customer service skills Possess strong skills in organizing, executing and documenting work Attention to detail and ability to follow processes and directions Effective written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills in order to work closely and effectively with site management, project managers, co-workers, and others Able to work a 10-hour shift, respond to emergency calls (rotating weekend on-call basis), and work occasional overtime as required Your experience includes : Preferred 5 or more years' experience in a general building maintenance environment operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building equipment and systems Understanding of pumps and piping systems, meters, gauges, and process instrumentation used in RO / DI water systems Basic plumbing skills for restroom repairs Building Management System (Alerton or similar) controls experience desirable Use of computerized preventative maintenance program Experience with Microsoft Office Location : Our Shakopee campus is located 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis in a setting with a rural vibe - it overlooks a horse racing track and stables, yet it has great entertainment venues close by as well.
