Financial Counselor
Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities.
Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia.
Services provided at the hospital include emergency medical care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity, and behavioral health services.
Position Description :
This position is responsible for greeting, collecting and processing all non-scheduled patients to gather the necessary demographic information required in accordance with all regulations and hospital policies to provide care for the patients, procure reimbursement verification from third parties and maintain records appropriately.
Job Duties :
- Competent in using all system software programs i.e.; Medical Necessity, Experian, One Source, Cerner, Scheduling.
- Complete understanding of Insurance processing requirements i.e.; (verification, authorization, terms, requirements and regulations).
- Demonstrates a good understanding of all current ARMC policies pertaining to the collection process for scheduled / walk-in patients.
- Provide transparency to the patients and or physician’s office regarding (Directions, Prep, Financial Clearance, Scheduling and Collections).
- Demonstrates a good understanding of the charity policy is capable of screening all patients for possible assistance.
