We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Attorney / Lawyer in the heart of CHICAGO, Illinois. This role revolves around key legal functions, particularly in the realm of procurement, regulatory compliance, and municipal law within the government industry.
As an Attorney / Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating legal processes, providing counsel, and ensuring the organization's adherence to local, state, and federal laws.
Responsibilities :
- Facilitate procurement processes by assisting in drafting solicitation and contract documents and providing advice on procurement decisions.
- Handle procurement protests and manage appeals of protest denials.
- Provide legal counsel on municipal and governmental laws including but not limited to the Open Meetings Act, Freedom of Information Act, state and local law, Federal law, and U.
S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations.
- Assist in responding to inquiries or actions from regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with administrative procedures.
- Conduct thorough research on statutes, regulations, rules, and orders and provide legal advice for planning and implementing business initiatives.
- Use Case Management Software to maintain accurate records and monitor customer accounts.
- Utilize Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suites to prepare and manage necessary legal documentation.
- Leverage knowledge of Government Contracts and Government Procurement to advise on contract law matters.
- Ensure Government Compliance in all legal operations and decisions.
- Use knowledge of the Construction Industry, when necessary, to provide specialized legal advice.
- Must hold a valid license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suites required
- Experience with Case Management Software is essential
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Contracts and Government Contracts
- Familiarity with Government compliance and Government Procurement procedures
- Understanding of State government processes and regulations
- Experience in Procurement and Compliance
- Previous experience in the Construction Industry would be advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
