Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) Chelmsford, MA is seeking a motivated and driven Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing operations.
As a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries, LMMFC offers the vital capabilities needed to provide our war fighting and civilian customers the products and services they need in their defining moments.
Quality Engineers at LMMFC act as an integrated member of the design and production teams developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work Instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products.
To ensure our customer receives the highest level of Quality, our Quality Engineers develop, review / approve documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure requirements are fulfilled.
What You Will Be Doing
- Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
- Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.
- Attends and leads program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution, and ensures responsible parties meet commitments.
- Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes the disposition of non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
- Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures, and ISO 9001 & AS9100 standards.
- Interfaces with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality related issues.
- Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
- Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in a STEM related discipline or higher.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
- This position will be located at a facility that requires the ability to obtain a secret clearance and be able to obtain an interim secret prior to start so therefore all candidates need to be US Citizens.
Desired Skills :
- STEM degree with at least 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
- ASQ CQE.
- Discrete and / or Micro-electronics experience.
- Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action development.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma application.
- J-STD-001 / IPC-A-610 familiarization.
Security Clearance Statement : This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely : Onsite Full-time : The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
Schedule for this Position : 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
