Maintenance Job Description
Reports To : Chief Engineer and General Manager
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Position Summary : The Maintenance position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Clean & add water to the pool & spa
- Clean & make sure that everything in the exercise room is in proper working order
- Check the maintenance log in the front office & fixes any problems
- Consult the Maintenance Chief, Executive Housekeeper, AGM or GM for any repairs or help needed
- Clean the parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways, stairs, & entrance thoroughly
- Work on any preventive duties
- Report any problem that cannot be easily fixed to the manager on duty so that professional help can be contacted
- Report any problems that would interfere with guest satisfaction to necessary departments and GM
- Make sure to the best of his / her ability that no rooms are being blocked for any minor maintenance problems
- Keep the storage area clean everyday
- Ensure that there are enough housekeeping supplies on each floor
- Ensure that there are enough linens & supplies in stock
- Lock all storage areas before clocking out
- Place any newly delivered supplies in the stock room
- Verify that all exterior lights are working properly
- Report & fixes any safety hazards throughout the hotel
- Remove visible weeds
- Ensures that the stock room has sufficient inventory to last at least two weeks & brings it to the attention of the GM if any supply needs to be ordered
- Follow & fill out the guest room inspection checklist on each room
- Clean the ice machine, soda machine, coin laundry units, fire extinguishers
- Clean the sidewalks & breezeways with a pressure washer
- Clean the windows & doors in each guestroom & office building
- Rotate the mattresses in each guestroom (every three months)
- Battery test on door locks (monthly)
- Maintain all smoke alarms (every three months)
- Other duties as assigned
Experience / Education :
- Highschool Diploma / GED required
- Hospitality experience preferred
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements
- Regular lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling from 50 to 75lbs
- Climbing stairs regularly
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching
- Frequent standing and walking during shift
