Position Information Job Title Institutional Accreditation and Assessment Coordinator Summary The Coordinator will provide support to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness in the form of tracking, managing, and reporting data to support accreditation and other regulatory needs for licensure programs and graduate certificates, as well as completing assigned projects related to the work of the office (e.

g., program review, assessment of student learning, data analysis and reporting, strategic planning support, survey administration, and data governance).

Specific tasks may include quantitative and qualitative data analysis, management of assessment logistics, attendance at committee meetings, and other tasks as assigned.

The Coordinator will also provide support for accreditation and assessment to the Department of Counseling by managing accreditation data, assisting with required reporting and preparation for accreditation visits, and assisting with training and development of departmental faculty and staff in support of accreditation efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities Institutional Effectiveness Support

  • Management of logistics for policies, assessment of student learning, and student evaluation of teaching
  • Data entry and support for institutional effectiveness : Fact Book, IPEDS, related external and internal data requests.
  • Analysis of student learning and survey data; and
  • Support for strategic planning, development of benchmarks and dashboard indicators for institutional performance and policies.

Accreditation and Regulatory Support

  • Maintain database of state licensure requirements and manage annual notification process
  • Collection and reporting of data for US Department of Education Financial Value Transparency / Gainful Employment reporting requirements

Counseling Accreditation and Assessment

  • Serve as liaison between the Department and State of Ohio, regulatory agencies, and accrediting bodies
  • Manage accreditation and assessment data for counselingWrite, collect necessary data, and complete all accreditation applications and renewals for programs in the department.

Participate in, and provide data for, campus related assessment meetings as relevant to this department’s programsAssist chair with internal and external data reporting needsGenerate reports for both formative and summative evaluations of candidates on regular basis and as requested by chair and program coordinators

  • Manage assessment softwareCoordinate development and implementation of data management systemWork with information technology personnel in updating and maintaining data systemTrain new department faculty, staff, students and external supervisors in the use of the data system
  • Organize all department accreditation site visits and be the point person and lead contact during those events.
  • Assist chair with departmental and university communication related to assessment and accreditation
  • Assist department personnel with technical support as requested by faculty and staff
  • Provide technical support to candidates on data collection and portfolio management for assessment and professional portfolios
  • Update program handbooks for the Department as needed for accreditation compliance
  • Assist chair in course enrollment management to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • Three years of experience with program evaluation and assessment in higher education.
  • Skilled in data analysis and statistical software
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google suite
  • Conscientious and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships to enhance work flow and work quality
  • Interest in understanding and advancing John Carroll’s mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Experience working with accreditation platforms (examples include Watermark and Tk20)
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes and standards related to external accrediting bodies and professional organizations affiliated with preparation of Counseling professionals

Normal Work Location, Hours and Conditions This position works in person from our campus in University Heights, Ohio. University core business hours are generally 8 : 30 am 5 : 00 pm.

However this position will require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on department operations.

  • Physical Requirements Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time;
  • to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and / or pull light to moderate amounts of weight;
  • to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard;

to travel to other office locations and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Hours Full Time FLSA Exempt (Salary) Compensation & Benefits Starting salary will be $43,888 $45,000, commensurate with qualifications.
