Level Learning is a web platform for language-learning used by students and teachers. We keep students engaged with our library of books, quizzes, and various learning modules.
We automate the learning process and provide teachers with metrics on student progress. As a Senior Frontend Developer on our product team, you will play a key role in improving the visual design of our application, catering to the needs of school administrators, teachers and students.
You should be a capable engineer with a strong design background, and a desire to blend usability and visual design to create a seamless user experience.

You will take complete ownership of entire features and be involved in every step of the process from requirements gathering to development and release optimization.

- Work experience as a UI / UX Designer or similar role
- Experience with Nivo or D3 visualizations
- Experience with Material UI
- Experience with Mobx or Vuex state management library and patterns
- In-depth knowledge of Lord of the Rings and / or Star Trek
- Broad understanding of AI applications / OpenAI API product offerings

Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a React / Vue development position
- Align working hours with US Pacific Timezone
- Thrive in a start-up culture
- Portfolio of projects (tech demos are great)
- In-depth knowledge of React, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML
- Strong desire for consistency of component use and not reinventing the wheel
- Be able to learn and follow established patterns in code
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders across content creation, training, support and development teams
- Knowledge of wireframe / quick collaboration tools (e.g. Figma, Miro)
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment
- Passionate about improving education, crafting fun and enjoyable experiences for kids
- Participate in team design meetings
- Use React / TypeScript / CSS / HTML to execute the design
- Submit GitHub pull requests and make changes based on constructive criticism and feedback from the team
- Ensure design and brand consistency across different components
- Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
- Collaborate with front and back end developers to improve usability
- Attend daily standup meetings
- Stay up-to-date on front end patterns
