Structural & Payload Design Engineer 2
Seeking an Engineering Project Manager to guide multiple C-17 improvement projects and support project proposal process.
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, self-starter with a high degree of technical competency. The selected candidate will work across all areas of engineering, product support, planning, finance, scheduling, Publications, and Retrofit Management to ensure activities and tasks are completed to plan within cost targets.
The Structural & Payload Design Engineer candidate will interact with senior leadership and customer representatives to communicate status and performance to plan.
The Structural & Payload Design Engineer will work multiple projects and for each project be responsible for gathering requirements from stakeholders, planning, organizing, scheduling, and assessing risks;
guiding all aspects of implementation.
Produce project initiation and status documentation for all projects and conduct management and customer reviews.
Leadership experience developing and managing project teams and project schedules, planning, cost and EVMS.
Build strong project implementation teams and facilitate team discussions as appropriate.
Prioritize, delegate and track tasks and action items needed to achieve project completion.
Facilitate and resolve issues.
Develop overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the project owner and key stakeholders.
Collaborate with others and direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.

The Structural & Payload Design Engineer role is Hybrid : 3-days onsite.
Job Requirements :
Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (Master).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Education : Must have a Bachelor in Engineering or other technology / STEM related fields
REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
2. 1-2 years of experience presenting summarized project status and issues to management and the customer along with recommended future steps
3. Must have 1-2 years of experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams within an internal organization and external partners.
4. Proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work
Preferred Skills / Qualifications :
1. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment OJT or formal classroom training.
