Your expertise in estimating for heavy civil engineering projects, particularly in the realm of high-speed rail infrastructure, will be instrumental in guiding our project through its various phases from planning to completion.
Must be able to work onsite in Selma, CA.
Role description :
Arcadis provides Project and Construction Management Services to oversee the Design-Build for Construction of the California High-Speed Rail System (System) in Californias Central Valley.
In the Senior Estimator role, you will have knowledge of the transportation industry, project controls (cost and schedule management) methods for construction, and commissioning & validation methods.
Role accountabilities :
- Independently prepare bottoms-up and top-down cost estimates from plans / drawings and documents from conceptual stage to final design / construction documents
- Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
- Determine labor and equipment costs.
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
- Discuss and propose the most proper means and method.
- Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks.
- Understand project logistics and project schedule.
- Analyze subconsultant and contractor cost / change proposals for reasonableness.
- Independently perform scope, quantity and / or unit cost reconciliations
- Assist the project management staff with the management of project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Assist with analysis, and report on the project key performance metrics.
- Follow appropriate internal control safeguards to ensure consistent reporting of accurate information.
- Use your skills with construction means and methods.
Required Qualifications :
- 10+ years experience estimating heavy civil projects in the Engineering / Construction Cost Estimation field, with an emphasis in cost estimation.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Technology, a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in Heavy Civil, Underground, Structures, Earthworks Industry
- Experience on Contract Side vs. Owners Side.
- Advanced computer skills with estimating software HCSS Heavy Bid
Key Skills and Attributes :
- A thorough knowledge of computer applications as it relates to Estimation - Hard Dollar or equivalent, MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience in cost estimating related to construction.
- Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several assignments.
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Field experience.
