Responsibilities :
- Provide students rigorous and relevant learning activities and experiences
- Build strong relationships with students
- Create a safe and conducive learning environment
- Prepare lessons that reflect best practices and accommodate individual differences
- Encourage students to take ownership of their learning goals and process
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media
- Implement College Achieve’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
- Assess student learning in an ongoing manner
- Provide frequent student feedback, information to parents and written progress reports
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct
Qualifications :
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ State Certification as a Special Education Teacher or Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification or Teacher of Handicapped certification.
- Possession of a passionate and loving attitude toward all children
- Possession of a sense of urgency to do whatever it takes to assure that every student gets to and through college
