POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Athletic Trainer of Marshall Medical Clinics works with providers and staff to ensure effective medical care is delivered to all patients in a timely, dignified, and caring manner.
This position maintains continuity of patient care, improving productivity, patient outcomes and satisfaction to ensure utmost patient satisfaction.
The Athletic Trainer provides value to the practice through skills in triage, taking patient histories, providing instruction on exercise prescriptions, rehabilitation and general patient education.
Certified Athletic Trainer will prepare patients for their examination / visit and assist the providers as needed; perform a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing casting and DME.
Certified Athletic Trainers of Marshall Medical Center will be expected to perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and achievements of all Marshall Medical.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Licensure / Certification :
Bachelor's degree with major in athletic training, hold the ATC (Athletic Trainer Certified) credential
BOC Certified (Orthopedic Specialty certified)
Casting Certification
Knowledge :
2-3 years of experience with injury evaluation and rehabilitation implementing comprehensive injury management strategies preferred
Certified Orthopedic Technologist preferred
Knowledge about a broad range of medical problems. required
Skills :
Attention to Detail : Athletic trainers should take notes on how people are recovering and how to best keep them healing
Decision-Making Skills : quick thinking by athletic trainers is vital to patient health
Interpersonal Skills : Athletic trainers work with people in stressful situations. Keeping a clear head and a calm demeanor when talking to patients, medical professions, staff, and families will be an asset.
Communication skills including reading, writing, speaking and comprehension.
Must be able to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
