Job description : Global shipping company in central NJ is seeking a *System Engineer - Monitoring Engineer.*You will be involved in maintaining, operating, and innovating the firm's corporate infrastructure, ensuring they remain at the cutting edge of technology and service.
- You will need to work fully on-site for the first 3 months; after that work remotely 2 days / week. Responsibilities : Managing and monitoring of existing systems and infrastructure.
- Maintaining system documentation to include system reviews and recommendations.* Identifying potential issues and proactively proposing solutions and improvements.
- Securing systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.* Fulfilling ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the Company.
- Contributing to the definition and implementation of project best practices and quality processes. Qualifications : *Required skills and experience : Strong experience in the information security / technology sector.
- Proven experience with Azure, Azure DevOps and working within CI / CD pipelines.* Proven experience with REST API's.* Proven experience in incident management, service request management and troubleshooting using root cause analysis (RCA) techniques.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog or similar).* Ability to multitask and work under pressure.Any of the following would be a plus : * Experience of using ticketing systems and use of monitoring and management tools.
- Experience with cloud-based solutions around compute, storage, and network (Azure).* Experience with Agile methodology.
- Scripting knowledge (Ansible, Bash, Python, Powershell).* ITIL certification.* Practical experience working in an RHEL environment.
