Senior Category Manager, Marketing Strategic Sourcing
The Senior Category Manager of Marketing Strategic Sourcing is a high-impact position with responsibility to manage multiple categories of spend with the goal of optimizing the total cost of ownership and increasing total value and business outcome.
This position is responsible for development of category and sourcing strategies, sourcing execution, negotiations, contracting activities, and relationship management across a subset of Marketing sub-categories.
This position will provide consistent exposure to Best Buy executives, large strategic suppliers, and highly complex agreements.
Additionally, this position has responsibility for 1-5 direct reports.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location.

What you'll do
- Strategic end-to-end management of owned spend categories aimed at achieving optimal value out of our marketing investment
- Business stakeholder relationship management and alignment with the purpose of category optimization / initiative roadmaps
- Strategic and commercial supplier relationship management necessary to advance vision of the Business and Procurement
- Effective execution of appropriate tactics to advance objectives established for the owned categories.
- Subject matter expert for area of responsibility and associated processes and practices within Procurement
- Leading and developing direct reports, as well as ability to get the work done through others
Basic Requirements
- 6 or more years of experience in strategic sourcing, advertising agency, marketing agency or related role.
- 3 or more years of leadership experience with direct or indirect reports
- 3 or more years of experience collaborating with and influencing business stakeholders
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelors' Degree in Marketing, Business, or Supply Chain
- Possess natural curiosity, asking questions when necessary to understand a problem
- Organized and able to effectively manage a number of responsibilities / projects at once, with ability to prioritize
- Demonstrated ability to self-start
- Excellent communications and presentation skills
- Ability to create and execute a strategic vision
- Effective cross-functional collaborator, with ability to influence internally and externally
