All faculty at Georgia State are, as part of their essential job duties, expected to : (1) be physically present on-campus as needed to contribute to Georgia State's in-person educational experience, and (2) be able to teach in each of the following instructional modalities - in-person, online, or blended / hybrid - as determined by their Department Chair or Dean.

Department Kinesiology & Health College College of Education & Human Development Campus Atlanta Position Type Full Time Faculty Posting Type Internal / External About the Department The Department of Kinesiology and Health is home to the Exercise Science undergraduate program, one of the most popular majors at Georgia State University.

The Kinesiology and Health Department annually serves over 1000 graduate and undergraduate students in Exercise Science, Health and Physical Education, and Sports Administration, with a reputation for excellent teaching in a diverse student body.

Faculty have a history of external funding from the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Education, corporations, and various private agencies and organizations, and collaborate with multiple organizations on and off the university campus.

The department supports state-of-the-art research and teaching laboratories in biomechanics, applied physiology, psychology of physical activity, cardiovascular physiology, muscle biology, sports business, and physical education pedagogy.

The Sport Administration program is widely recognized for its richly diverse students and alumni, its acclaimed faculty, and the limitless opportunities available in the metro Atlanta region.

The program offers a B.I.S. concentration in Sport Administration, M.S. degree in Sport Administration, and Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Sport Administration concentration.

Additionally, the program houses the Rankin Cooter Sports Business Research Lab and the Center for Sport and Urban Policy.

Position Description Primary responsibilities include teaching (4-4 load) primarily undergraduate Sport Administration courses and fostering relationships with local sport organizations.

Other responsibilities include program, department, and college committee-based service, including student advising and club advisement and creating experiential learning opportunities for students.

This rank allows the faculty member to be promoted through the university system and teach on both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The 10-month position begins August 2025. Summer teaching opportunities may be available annually. Required Experience Required Education Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree in Sport Management or related discipline by the start of the position.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience Candidates should demonstrate a record of outstanding university-level teaching, along with professional experience in the sport industry.

Preferred candidates will have expertise in a range of sport management courses; a record of active membership in professional organizations;

and sport industry experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Candidates will have expertise in a range of sport management courses such as sport finance, sport law, sport management, sport leadership, sport sales and operation, etc.
