BBVA CIB US Corporate Debt Advisory Analyst
Summary of Responsibilities : The Analyst will support the US Corporate Debt Advisory team (specifically the Corporates segment), which opines on the various capital structures and financing alternatives available to corporate clients across a range of sectors, vis-à-vis their strategic objectives.
The analysis is conducted via a variety of technical tools and models developed internally by the team. Examples of specific analysis include M&A capacity, shareholder returns, indicative credit ratings, cost of capital, and product agnostic advisory regarding various debt and equity solutions.
The Analyst will support senior members of the team by working on financial models and preparing client marketing materials in which the analytical conclusions are provided.
The Analyst will also work closely with other products and teams - Corporate Lending, and Debt Capital Markets teams - in preparing comprehensive pitch books.
Essential Job Duties :
- Manipulation of financial models to project financial statements and key credit metrics
- Identification and synthesis of industry research
- Preparation of various marketing materials for client pitches
- Maintenance and improvement of analytical tools and templates
- Data management
Moderately complex responsibilities, with a critical component being the financial modeling and preparation of client pitch books both are iterative processes that require a high attention to detail.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Math, Engineering, or related field
- Fluent in English. Working knowledge of Spanish is a plus, but not required
Skills, knowledge, and abilities / Competencies :
- Comfort with accounting and financial statements
- Previous experience with financial models is a plus
- A high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage tight deadlines and complex projects
- Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible in terms of responsibilities
- Advanced Excel (e.g. ability to rapidly audit, understand and edit Excel formulas such as IF statements), and PowerPoint (e.
g. ability to rapidly create, update and format slides containing charts and tables, in an error-free and highly polished manner)

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $90,000 to $100,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained.
Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
