SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3-4 years of Development experience and / or experience in a cultural institution environment required.
- Key understanding of donor portfolio management, benefit fulfillment, and an emphasis on moves management for enhanced giving.
- Keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment a must.
- Experience developing, planning, and executing donor events / programs for benefit fulfillment, donor cultivation and stewardship with an emphasis on programmatic alignment with departmental fundraising priorities a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of people within and outside the museum.
- Professionally represent the institution and its programs across a wide range of circumstances.
- Must be personable, highly organized, detail-oriented, and work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Suite : One Drive, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Work collaboratively with members of the Individual Giving team to achieve and exceed annual fundraising goals, provide support on various ad hoc projects across the Individual Giving department, and support the advancement of the museum’s diversity, equity, access, and inclusion.
- Develop and manage strategies to maintain existing donor relationships and solicit new prospects with the intent to meet and exceed annual financial targets for the Collections Council;
International Director’s Council; Latin American Circle; Middle Eastern Circle; and Young Collectors Council
- Oversee the collection and processing of contributions; data management, report generation and stewardship of members, working with the Advancement Operations team to maintain and ensure accuracy of donor records and correlating reports.
- Coordinate and execute seasonal events, tours, and meetings (briefing forms, catering, rentals, A / V, registration, event reminders, processing expenses, and budget tracking), with assistance as needed on other programs and tasks.
- Serve as a liaison in providing excellent customer service and hospitality to current and prospective members via phone, and email, in addition to staffing events to develop and deepen relationships with donors.
- Perform budget and expense tracking, donor research, database maintenance, management of prospect lists, meeting agendas, and other administrative support of the Individual Giving Department.
- Execute communication materials for Affinity Group memberships, in addition to tracking related proposals and ensuring the accuracy of proposal records.
- Support the Assistant Director, Individual Giving and Manager, Individual Giving with their portfolio of donors with an emphasis on growing giving capacity beyond annual membership dues.
- Regularly attend museum-wide and art world events as well as plan cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year.
- Assist the Assistant Director, Individual Giving; Manager, Individual Giving; and Individual Giving team at large with additional stewardship, program management, and other ad hoc projects as requested.
WORK DEMANDS and ENVIRONMENT :
- Ability to travel within the metropolitan area as required to perform the above duties at any of the Guggenheim’s owned or leased properties upon request.
- Occasionally work may be conducted outdoors, exposure to varied weather conditions.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on occasion.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
EDUCATION :
Bachelor’s degree preferred with a strong interest in art.
