Position Overview
Blue Owl is seeking a Principal / Vice President in Investment Operations, with a focus on the life science equity trading platform as well as the private credit business.
Primary duty for this position is to oversee the equity team and the day-to-day trading and settlement processes. This person will be working closely with the portfolio managers and accounting team on new investments which includes upcoming private deals, IPOs, and equity transactions.
There will also be opportunity to help grow the team as the business evolves.
Responsibilities
- Perform reconciliation for positions, transactions, and cash for the public / private equities, options and other instruments.
- Daily monitoring of trading activities and cash management on Enfusion, Citco, DTCC, CTM, and the prime broker platforms.
- Process corporate actions in the order management systems and through the administrator or custodian.
- Coordinate with the transfer agents, prime brokerage, and custodians on the various delivery methods to bring shares into the custody accounts such as DWAC and free versus cash delivery.
- Ensure trades are settled accurately and timely with the brokers and the fund administrator.
- Prepare funding memos and direction letters for private equity and private investment in public equity transactions with respective company counsel and the administrator.
- Ensure quality control in the trade workflow from the order management system downstream to respective vendors.
- Become a product knowledge expert to help train future team members.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Professional background in equity operations.
- High level of professionalism.
- Takes initiative and is solution-oriented in all interactions.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage daily, weekly, and monthly workloads.
- Can multitask while staying focused.
- Bachelor's degree required.
