Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced R&D Laboratory Support Specialist to play a crucial role in supporting our Research & Development laboratories.
This position will focus on optimizing current and developing formulas to enhance quality, cost efficiency, and production scalability.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in formulation, raw materials management, and regulatory compliance, with a strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global team setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : 1. Raw Materials Management :
- Act as an R&D representative on the Committee of Efficiency to streamline raw material processes.
- Support the approval process for new raw materials and assess alternatives to reduce risks associated with raw material sourcing.
2. Formulation Development :
- Test and evaluate raw material alternatives in existing and developmental formulas to enhance quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with development labs to establish experimental plans and ensure projects are completed within designated timelines.
- Maintain strict adherence to EU, USA, and LATAM regulations during formula development.
- Summarize trial data, generate reports, and make data-driven recommendations to guide decision-making.
- Engage actively in the scale-up process, proposing innovative solutions for transitioning formulas from lab scale to pilot production.
- Evaluate pilot and production batches, reviewing records for accuracy and consistency.
3. Additional Skills and Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate proficiency in Research & Development software; validate and update information in databases, SAP, and LASCOM.
- Meet with raw material suppliers to discuss quality, costs, and sourcing strategies.
- Participate in relevant industry meetings and seminars.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (B.A.) or related field from a four-year accredited institution.
- Experience : Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in R&D, formulation, and laboratory operations.
- Languages : Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency with database software, SAP, and LASCOM. Must be skilled in operating laboratory equipment, including mixers, grinders, press machines, hot plates, centrifuges, pH meters, and viscometers.
Additional Requirements :
Willingness to travel to Peru and Colombia to assist in pilot testing, quality control, and production support.
