Perform the Accounts Payable function for the logistics department, assisting with administrative functions and providing backup for other functions in the department as needed.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include :
- Perform Accounts Payable function for Logistics. Includes accurate and timely processing of all Logistics invoices for payment.
- Daily audit of freight invoice upload file to SAP for verification of data accuracy and approval for payment.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Answer all inquiries from vendors / freight carriers about the Accounts Payable function promptly and courteously.
- Work with Corporate Accounts Payable on any invoice payment issues.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, according to company policy and accepted accounting practices, including routine transfer to storage.
- Maintain the W-9 files for vendors and prepare new vendor paperwork for submission to Master Data.
- Prepare information for Logistics’ year-end 1099 reporting for the corporate division.
- Respond to customer service department, auditor, and other requests for bills of lading and other shipping documentation.
- Daily mail run.
- Continually review processes and make recommendations for improvements.
- Assist other functions in Logistics as needed.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following :
Education / Experience
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree from a two-year college; or two to five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2-3 years of accounts payable experience required, preferred from an industrial or supply chain setting
Specialized Knowledge
- Should have a strong knowledge base of Accounts Payable
- Strong MS Excel
- SAP experience is helpful but not required
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Skills / Abilities
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary Description $21 - 23 / HR.
