Mechanical Designer (SolidWorks)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with product development engineers to create high speed cable product CAD models as per their input and feedback
  • Employ best modeling practices and advanced feature techniques to capture design intent, and to facilitate design changes and data reuse (expanding design concepts into product families and derivatives)
  • Create and maintain internal and customer CAD drawings of components and assemblies
  • Participate in design reviews, interface with Development, Mechanical and Signal Integrity, and Process Engineers

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering, CAD, or a related field
  • 3-4 years SolidWorks experience.
  • High level of SolidWorks modeling and assembly design skills, specifically : Advanced part and assembly features Reference geometry and shared data Feature patterns and copies Surfacing, quilt operations Top-down design techniques Family tables Detailing, dimensional and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Familiarity with industry standard drafting and detailing practices (ANSI, ASME)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies (stamping, molding, plating) a plus
  • Knowledge of Windchill PDMLink 11 or 12 a plus
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 operating system and standard MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, thoroughness in work, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, with minimum supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
