We are a fun, friendly, locally owned senior retirement community. We are looking for a fun, out-going, energetic individual to join our team to lead the activities in our assisted living community.

This successful candidate will directly interact with the wonderful residents of our community by planning and carrying out our daily activities.

The pay range depends on experience and / or qualifications.

Activity Director

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Ensure the mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the residents are met through the activities provided in the community.
  • Plan, prepare, and post a monthly activity calendar that include the five components of Recreational Therapy.
  • Coordinate and perform the activities listed on the monthly calendar.
  • Plans creative and fun Resident Parties, Movie Nights, Entertainers, Educational Activities, Cultural Events, and other Special Events.
  • Must be creative in coordinating and directing lots of amazing and talented Volunteers to support our Residents in activities and in developing new friendships and social circles.
  • Maintain and improve relationships with the residents, family members and community staff by planning special functions where the residents, families and staff can interact.
  • Must be able to plan and carry out events while working within the assigned Budgetary limits.
  • Assist with transportation of residents as needed. Must be comfortable driving a 12 Passenger Van to shuttle Residents to and from Dr.

s appointments and local excursions and shopping trips, during designated Appointment Days.

  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
  • The ideal candidate we are looking for is vivacious, positive, encouraging, patient, kind, compassionate, energetic, responsible, punctual, honest, team-oriented, creative, works well with all Departments within our community, and has a passion for going above and beyond to help Residents have the best possible quality of life, through activities and events.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise any other staff in the Activity Department.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the activity department direction.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;

rewarding and disciplining employees, resolving concerns and complaints.
